A case of wine for those who have developed a taste for the finer wines of the world.  These 6 sublime wines (2 bottles of each) are drinking perfectly now, but would grace any cellar. 

The Boisset Hautes Cotes de Nuits Blanc is a wine made by a young winemaker who is one of the most gifted in Burgundy.  Gregory Patriat has a philosophy of using only the best fruit and letting it express itself, and the wine shows a purity and balance that great Burgundy should have.  For a much richer more Meursault like Burgundy we have the sublime Montagny 1er Cru from Boillot.  One of the white wines of the year.  To the New World and a Marlborough Sauvignon which was an absolute knock out at the last tasting we did.  From Isabel Estate, the wine has all the intense gooseberry and green fruit one would expect, but it has fantastic balance and a lovely creaminess at the end that leaves you wanting to take another sip, and another... sublime.

Chateau Fontesteau first came on our radar when the 2004 vintage picked up a 5 star rating in a Decanter tasting.  The wine is simply classic claret at a great price - nice ripe fruit, tobacco, cedar, firm tannins - it's all there.  Portugal is gaining a great reputation for it's still wines with their robust fruit, and the Quinta do Crasto Douro Reserva is one of the best.  Produced from old vines, it's full to the brim with blackberry and plum fruit, and lovely spice, if you haven't tried Portugal yet then this is a great place to start.  And last but certainly not least is our latest Australian discovery - Plexus from John Duval, a grenache syrah mourvedre blend.  Now John used to make Grange for Penfolds (Australia's top wine) so he know what he is doing.  And, even though the wine is in a different style to Grange, at less than £20 a bottle it's a steal.
