If you've read my notes on the Filature Syrah, you'll know how highly I regard this producer and we're very excited to be working with them.
Like their Syrah, the Chardonnay is a little stunner. Deep lemony in colour, there's a full nose of buttery, toasty oak initially, followed by ripe pineapple, melon, apple and citrus, which then takes control. The wine has superb weight on the palate, with fresh ripe tropical fruits, a squeeze of orange, a hint of spice and well integrated creamy oak. It has good acidity, a nice mineral edge and lovely purity of fruit. It's full, but it's well balanced, well made and delicious to drink.
