I liked this very much when tasted in April 2009 during the en primeur campaign and it got huge ratings from all the critics. It's a very pure, precise wine packed with dark brooding fruits, spice, smoke and coffee. The only downside is it won't be anywhere near its best for another 10-20 years. It's a real keeper with a very fine tannic structure and juicy acidity that needs time to fully evolve and harmonise further. Rated 94-96 points by Robert Parker (which should increase when re-rated), this is truly outstanding claret.
