Certified organic, this is a fantastic new Pinot Noir that has just arrived in the UK. Produced in Wairarapa, this is all that great Kiwi Pinot should be with a beautiful nose of dark cherries, plums and soft sweet spice. These notes follow through onto the silky palate with that initial attack of bright ripe fruit - fresh, balanced and with finesse - but then you get subtle savoury notes showing their hand, plus some fine grained tannin on the finish, hinting at a more serious wine than you first thought. It's an impressive effort, juicy and vibrant if you drink it now, but hinting that there may be more to come if you've got the patience to wait 3-5 years. Top Pinot and something that I'll be enjoying a bottle or two of over the coming months.
