One of Matthew Jukes' Top 100 Aussie wines and a real treat to get such quality from Margaret River at such a competitive price. A blend of four varieties - Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Merlot, this is a really well made wine packed with blackcurrant and brambly fruit along with eucalyptus, tobacco and spice. It's classic elegant Margaret River Cabernet with a bit more depth to the mid palate. The tannins are firm and the wine has good acidity, suggesting that this wine will age gracefully for 5-7 years, and the length of finish is very good. Given their top Cab is up towards £50 (and well worth it), this seems a bit of a steal at this price.
SC Rating - OUTSTANDING (Mike)
