Scoundrel Shiraz from small award winning Aussie producer, Magpie Estate. Produced from the best sourced fruit from Barossa vineyards and made by Rolf Binder and Noel Young, Scoundrel is a deep coloured, glass coating sort of wine. The powerful nose of fresh, ripe blackberry and damson fruit also reveals subtle hints of nutmeg, liquorice and eucalyptus. The power continues through the palate - it's a serious wine - with layers of dark fruit, spice, vanilla and toast. The tannins are firm and will soften with time and there's good acidity. A massive sweet fruited finish. Fans of top Aussie reds will love this. Either drink now with a chunk of red meat or lay down and consume over the next 2-5 years.
