Chile

Chilean reds have really started to forge a style of their own over the past two decades. Excellent Cabernets & Carmeneres from the central valleys, refined yet rich Pinot Noirs from southerly coastal regions are stand out examples. Famed for their Merlot, even this has now come of age with denser, more structured wines being produced than the flaccid examples of the 1990's.

Berryish fruit and spiced, slightly roasted earth character, rich aroma of Cassis with underlying cherry, blueberry, cedar wood and chocolate.
