When it was first opened for me I wasn't waiting with much excitement. I had tried a few examples from the Rheingau and hadn't been at all impressed. This however was a real surprise. Full of ripe strawberry fruit with a great length of flavour and without the stalky, under ripe notes I had chewed through on many other German examples. I liked it so much I had a glass with my lunch at the tasting. (And that from a paid up member of the Riesling Rules the World club). Pound for pound offers much better value and quality than you will find from Burgundy.
