Our third wine from Louis Guntrum and another really high quality offering, this time entering the feared arena of German Reds: a wine category looked upon with trepidation and unease by the buying public but one that can offer so much at a great price...fear not!
A bright ruby red with a nose of fresh, soft strawberry compote and a gentle sweet spiced warmth, the palate is beautifully rounded (a result of the malolactic fermentation), fresh but not piercing like some of it's French counterparts. There's black cherry and raspberry in lovely juicy waves and a delicate smoky undertone from barrique ageing. Very easy to get along with but still a very complete example of Pinot Noir, cast your fears side and give this one a go - you won't be disappointed.
