We love to get excited about Italy's expanse of Regions and Grapes and when something appears that we haven't heard of, it really gets us going. Cesanese (or Cesanese Comune officially) is Lazio's indigenous variety originating from Roman times, traditionally fermented to produce lightly sparkling reds, modern winemaking practices have made production of still wines possible.
A lovely deep ruby in coulour, the nose is full of warm black cherry and ripe raspberry alongside a delicate sweet vanilla note. The palate is clasically Italian - medium bodied but packed with flavour, clean acidity and a persistent finish. The cherry continues alongside fresh strawberry and tangy, subtle liquorice all wrapped up with balanced tannins. The length of finish is really impressive for a wine of this price and if you're a fan of some of our other Italian offerings (Gran Sasso, Salice Salentino) you'll absolutely love this!
