From the Alto Adige vineyards in the far north of North-East Italy, right in the foothills of the Dolomites. Pinot Nero – Pinot Noir to the rest of us – is grown here and when you fancy a change from an expensive Burgundy or a rich New Zealand style then this is a great place to look. A more delicate style that shows raspberries, red cherries, strawberries and violets on the nose, these fruits shine through on the palate giving the wine an elegant and smooth style with crisp acidity and a soft, round finish. Worth having a look at if you fancy a different type of Pinot.
