Quinta do Crasto are arguably Portugal's top producer and this wine, along with their Touriga Nacional, Vinha Maria Teresa and Vinha da Ponte, is one of Portugal's best table wines. Made from small parcels of top quality Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo) grapes the wine spends 18 months ageing in French barrels. The wine is intense with aromas and flavours of berry, spice and pepper. The ripe tannins are big and if you want to drink it now I would recommend decanting it. Will repay long term careful cellaring. Excellent value for the quality if you compare it with many French wines at the same price.
