TINY QUANTITIES AVAILABLE
Touriga Nacional is without doubt the finest quality, low yielding red grape that goes into the best vintage Ports and Portugese wines. I know this sounds expensive for a red from a country which hasn't got the biggest following over here but it is worth every penny. Pound for pound versus most of France this wins hands down.
The wine is from low yielding, old vines and spends 18 months in French oak barrels. The resulting wine is toasty, smoky and intensely spicy on the nose. The palate shows ripe, dark fruit with harmonious oak, ripe fine grained tannins and a wonderfully long, long finish. Drinking well now if decanted but has the ability to age gracefully for a decade or more.
