When we head to our suppliers tastings we then like to re-taste them again (we like tasting wine!) a few weeks later to ensure our palates were on top form that day..they usually are! This such gem was tasted, re-tasted then finally taken home by me, it was that good. Even my wife liked it and that is saying something!
Argentina is not all about it's reds, some of the aromatic whites are knockout. A really stunning dry white from a tiny 2 hectare plot in the Mendoza valley that constitutes the only known Fiano planting in Argentina. This really is class in a glass - full-textured and lushly fruited fresh pineapple, gorgeous honey notes and a background of sweet spice to go with the tropical fruit notes.
If you haven't tried Fiano yet and fancy something a bit different, then prepare to be impressed, but be quick as Susana Balbo doesn't make a lot of this wine.
SC RATING - Outstanding (Adam)
