We've been looking for a top quality Gavi di Gavi for a while now but, having found this, it's been well worth the wait. Straw coloured, the wine has very inviting aromas of pear, pineapple and baked apple. There's good firm acidity on the palate, deliciously fresh and balanced with the power of the fruit balanced by the liveliness of the acidity, and a hint of almond and mineral on the finish. The wine has seen no oak at all, letting the pure fruit shine through, and this is a great partner with seafood linguine.
SC Rating - OUTSTANDING (Mike)
