A stunning mature Pomerol from an outstanding estate, the 2008 Vieux Château Certan is now entering a glorious drinking window. Fragrant aromas of black cherry, plum, violets and truffle leap from the glass, followed by layers of ripe damson, cedar, graphite and exotic spice. Silky and beautifully poised, the palate combines richness and concentration with remarkable freshness and precision. The Cabernet Franc contributes lift, perfume and structure, while the long, seamless finish reveals notes of tobacco leaf, forest floor and dark chocolate.
