The Charmat method (or closed tank) is a fermentation done in tanks which turns « quiet » wines into sparkling wines. The name comes from its founder Jean-Eugène Charmat (1907). The fermentation is thermo-regulated at 13°C to preserve the freshness of the wine and lasts at least 3 weeks. Sparkling wine produced in France. The selection of base wines is made among different grape varieties and depending on the vintage characteristics, in order to obtain the desired style.
Nice pale shiny golden colour with fine and delicate bubbles. Aromas of peach, lemon and elderflower, with hints of hazelnuts and fresh butter.
The mouth is well balanced and fresh, with citrus notes and light bubbles. A clean fresh attack.
Fabulous style of sparkling, especially at this price!
