Ilauri was founded in 2001 by the Di Tonno family, in a magnificent, unspoiled part of the Abruzzi and has since expanded to 32 hectares in production in the municipality of Loreto Aprutino where they grow Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo as well as Peccorino.
This Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is slightly smoky, with dark frutied, almost candid aromas with hints of clove and spice.
Supple structure, great character and offering great value.
This is a superb wine at this price point and really offers a lot of quality.
