Break Free natural wines are born from a desire to showcase grapes with no intervention and centre around appreciating a grape’s heritage and flavour.
This, the third vintage of the Nouveau Cabernet Franc sees a change from Margaret River to the Albany region in Western Australia’s southwest – but remains a single vineyard wine.
The much cooler site provides an extended hang-time on the vine, resulting in a longer ripening period and greater intensity of varietal aromatics flavour and natural acidity.
Like all Nouveau styles, the fresher the better – the grapes are picked at optimum ripeness, crushed and hand-plunged on skins for seven days, then cold pressed to preserve the bright aromatics and colour.
Only free run juice is racked into stainless steel where the magic of spontaneous malolactic fermentation occurs and the wine is ready to be bottled.
The result is a wine with a vibrant, bright purple colour & fresh cherry notes and aromas.
Perfect served chilled with pizza & seafood pasta.
