Château de Lisse was one of the largest vineyards in Saint Étienne de Lisse in the early twentieth century.
It is one of the oldest vineyards in Saint Émilion which explains why the average age of the vines is 45 years.
From 1940 to 2015 it belonged to the Minvielle family, who over the years made it prosper and modernised the winemaking business by building a vatting cellar.
In 2015, the château was acquired by the Teycheney family, who already owned Château La Loubière and being passionately interested in farming and wine, decided to farm using biodynamic methods.
The fleur-de-lys is the emblem of the vineyard.
The choice was inspired by a 17th century medical book, where lily flowers are shown intertwined with vines.
This union of lily and vine represents the authenticity and elegance of this grand cru estate the family purchased.
This Saint Emilion is well known for its complexity.
On the nose, it reveals primary aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry & raspberry with subtle notes of hazelnut and chocolate.
In the mouth, the velvet tannins leave an elegant, creamy impression.
The finish is fruity, long lasting and delicious.
