The Società Agricola Castello di Radda SS is located on the eastern hills facing the town of Radda in Chianti in the Castello di Volpaia borough.
Now owned by the famous Beretta family, the vineyards are exposed from the south west to the south east with clay and limestone soils of a medium texture, with a good skeleton percentage, particularly suited for the cultivation of Sangiovese and Canaiolo.
This Toscana I.G.T. is a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Sangiovese.
Medium to full, this has a palate brimming with plums and black cherries and a refreshing hint of bitterness so many Italian wines have.
Aged mainly in steel with just a short time in barrels to show off the fruit, this is a nice alternative to Chianti.
