Ilauri was founded in 2001 by the Di Tonno family, in a magnificent, unspoiled part of the Abruzzi and has since expanded to 32 hectares in production in the municipality of Loreto Aprutino where they grow Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo as well as Peccorino.
This Sangiovese is a spiced, peppery, slightly earthy, inky style of Italian red.
Mouth filling with smoky, tobacco leaf characteristics combined with juicy aromas of berry compote, plum sauce and a hint of violets.
The palate is supple with fruit, winding towards a bright finish with bursts of red cherry.
