Ilauri was founded in 2001 by the Di Tonno family, in a magnificent, unspoiled part of the Abruzzi and has since expanded to 32 hectares in production in the municipality of Loreto Aprutino where they grow Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo as well as Peccorino.
This rich, powerful Montepulciano Riserva is one that should simply not be missed.
Rich and enjoyable characteristics of dark fruits, bright cherry high notes augmented by traces of dusty spice.
The palate is a bit punchy yet remains refined in a lengthy finish.
Complex wild berry notes framed by elegant oak spices accentuate this dark ruby violet wine.
