From the Abruzzo region of Italy, Beretta (yes the gun makers) have produced a fuller style of this now popular wine. Pecorino once nearly disappeared as a grape but has been championed more recently by local winemakers and now has quite a following. It's easy to see why as it often makes a lovely fresh wine with hints of orchard fruit. This Superiore example is fuller, having spent 6 months ageing on its lees, with a richer palate of baked apples, lemons and a hint of jasmine. A great food wine that works particularly well with cheese dishes.
