The history of the farm, i Capitani, dates back more than a century, seeing its beginning in the late XIX century and all through 1900s to the present day.
A story of commitment and traditions in the hinterland of Campania, exactly in Avellino province, in one of the best areas for wine making in Italy.
The protagonists of this story are Cefalo family (nicknamed “i Capitani”) and the fertile hills located in Bosco Faiano district of Torre le Nocelle town in the heart of Irpinia.
Falanghina is a white grape variety whose name derives from the Latin “phalange” that means “tied to the pole”.
Its origins are uncertain, although it is an ancient vine, that first traces back to 1825.
Obtained from the vinification of selected grapes of autochthonous Falanghina vine stocks, Clarum of i Capitani fully represents their territory with undeniably dynamic fragrances and tastes.
Very low yielding and grown near the family farm in the small town of Torre le Nocelle in the heart of Irpinia.
This is a lively and intense wine with marked hints of banana and melon whilst white floral notes abound.
Dry, soft, rich, yet lovely and fresh!
