Sauvignon Blanc 2022 Friuli Colli Orientali DOC Butussi

Valentino Butussi and his son quickly recognised the potential of the Prà di Corte valley in Friuli Colli Orientali D.O.C. zone and in 1910 they planted the first vines.

In the 1970s, Valentino’s son, Angelo Butussi increased the area of the estate planted to vines and also produced the first bottles under the company name.

Remaining a family affair, towards the end of the 1990s, Angelo’s four children Filippo, Tobia, Mattia and their sister Erika joined the company.

They all agreed that the quest for quality depends above all on the health of the vineyard and of the environment that surrounds it, so they started on their journey to organic viticulture with a small vineyard in 2002.

This led gradually to the total conversion of the estate in 2008 and to its acquiring organic certification in 2013.

This is a classic Sauvignon Blanc with aromas and flavours of passionfruit, peach and freshly cut herbs.

The acidity leaves the palate fully refreshed and wondering whether another glass might be in order.
