Awatere River create a range of premium quality wines from their small appellation in the world famous wine growing region - the Awatere Valley of Marlborough, New Zealand.
Standing proud at the head of Marlborough's Awatere Valley is Mount Tapuae-o-uenuku - the highest peak outside of New Zealand's Main Divide.
Its glaciers feed the Awatere River which meanders its way through some of New Zealand's best wine growing country.
Awatere River, by Louis Vavasour, is a collection of award winning, low yield, premium quality wines that reflect the distinctive terroir of the alluvial river flats on which they were grown.
To retain the delicate fruit aromatics and focusing on balance, purity and length of flavour, this wine was fermented in the stainless steel tanks.
It has classic aromas of red apple, lychee, pear and white peach which give way to a silky, textural palate with fresh, lively flavours.
Awatere River Pinot Gris is finely balanced with a lovely length of flavour.
