Chardonnay 2022 California Avalon Winery

Avalon was established in 1991 and began as a Cabernet Sauvignon based winery, producing a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and another from Lodi.

Over the years Avalon has offered a Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Red Blend and most recently Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.

A new label was introduced in 2019 which brought in a new era with an updated, eye catching label whilst constantly improving the vineyard sources and winemaking techniques.

Avalon strives to be environmentally responsible and sustainable throughout the winemaking process.

Avalon Chardonnay is made with grapes grown in Northern California including the Delta region.

Here, the Sacramento and American rivers form an extensive delta located 100 miles east of San Francisco.

Chardonnay is the most widely planted grape in the area, which gives the varietal a highly successful advantage.

As temperatures rise in the California’s interior valley, cool sea breezes are pulled directly through the San Francisco Bay via the Carquinez Strait creating a cooling effect that has allowed exceptional wine grapes to thrive in the region for more than a century.

Ripe apple and tropical fruit flavours abound in this elegant Chardonnay coupled with an array of complex French oak undertones.
