Languedoc & Roussillon produces the vast majority of wines in Southern France where Grenache and Syrah are the dominant local grape varieties along with Chardonnay & Sauvignon Blanc.
Key appellations to keep an eye out for include Minervois, Corbieres, Picpoul & Fitou.
Pays d'Oc or IGP wines are predominantly made in this area and offer excellent vale for money.
